CLUBS TERM FOUR
This term, every Tuesday afternoon for 4 weeks, all students continued their involvement in a whole range of different multi-aged CLUBS. Below is a description of some of the activities offered –
FITNESS Students participated in a whole range of physical activities in which they were individually timed and their results recorded. Their goal will be to improve their performance over the four week period of CLUBS.
GOLF Students went to Goonawarra Golf Course and were instructed by Carol on various aspects of the game of golf. They will have the opportunity to play some holes of golf over the next few weeks.
AMAZING RACE Students are set various challenges to complete in small teams. Some of these include decoding messages and clues and then setting out to complete the challenge.
ARTS & CRAFTS Students created window displays by punching holes through black paper and backing it on to cellophane. When held up to the light it gave a wonderful coloured outline of various animals.
MILO CRICKET Students spent time with a member of the Melbourne Renegades learning the skills of cricket and playing various fun games.
COOKING Students participated in a whole range of physical activities in which they were individually timed and their results recorded. Their goal will be to improve their performance over the four week period of CLUBS.
PARTY GAMES Students have lots of fun participating in traditional party games.
CRAFT Students are in the process of making their own paper mosaics.
BOARD GAMES Students are designing, making and playing their own board games.
GAMES Students participate in a whole range of fun indoor games.
FOOTBALL We are learning lots of skills and rules in the football club. The East Sunbury Football Club is coming along to run the sessions for the Prep - 2 and the Grades 3 - 6 students.
DR SEUSS CLUB Each week we read a Dr Seuss story and then do a craft activity related to the book. So far we have read The cat in the hat, One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish and Horton hears a Who. We have made a cat in the hat mask, cut out fish made from our hands and elephant puppets. There are also lots of Dr Seuss books for the children to read.
ZUMBA Zumba is lots of fun and the children get to dance and sing to great music. Marcelle is a wonderful instructor.
DRAWING Children love experimenting with different drawing styles, creating individual masterpieces.
DANCE In dance this term the children are moving to some great music and are working on some creative steps of their own.
EXPLORING ITALY Exploring Italy has seen us learning some basic phrases, talking about iconic buildings, crafting with pasta and experiencing the Italian cuisine. Full marks went to our gelati tasting.
YOGA We have been having lots of fun in Yoga during the last 4 weeks. Yoga is very beneficial to children. It enhances physical flexibility, promotes physical strength, refines balance and coordination, develops focus concentration and boosts self-esteem and confidence.
BIKE ED Over the past few weeks, 12 students have been participating in Bike Education. The aim of this club is to educate students on bike riding safety, riding technique, road rules and basic bike mechanics. The students have been involved in many activities, which incorporate all of the above. It has been both fun and rewarding for these students.
